In order to contain the continuation of the emergency caused by flooding, the Decree-Law of 1 June 2023, n. 61, "Urgent interventions to deal with the emergency caused by the flood events that occurred starting from 1 May 2023", which entered into force on 2 June 2023, provides for the suspension of the terms of payments in favor of companies and businesses holding loans of any genre.
In particular, it is envisaged, for companies and businesses (including sole proprietorships and VAT numbers) which, as of 1 May 2023, had their operational headquarters in the territories of Emilia-Romagna, Marche and Tuscany indicated in Annex 1 of the aforementioned Decree.
Following the changes made during the conversion, the aforementioned suspension also applies to:
companies and businesses which, as of 1 May 2023, had their registered office or local units in the territories indicated in Annex 1;
companies and businesses which, as of 1 May 2023, had their operational headquarters in the territories of the provinces of Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna, Ferrara, Ravenna, Forlì-Cesena and Rimini, for which a state of emergency was declared with resolutions of the Council of Ministers of 4 May and 23 May 2023.
The expiry of the loan will be extended for a period corresponding to that of the suspension, without additional costs and/or charges in terms of commissions or preliminary costs.
The interest accrued and possibly suspended during the period, unproductive of further interest, will be divided into shares of equal amount on the subsequent installments to expire and will be entirely due in the event of extinction or subrogation of the loan.
